Work Place Giving
COMMUNITY SHARES OF COLORADO
W.O.L.F. is proud to partner with Community Shares of Colorado in workplace giving campaigns. Making charitable donations via paycheck contributions is a convenient option that allows incremental gifts to add up over the course of a year. A paycheck contribution of $1 a day – $5 each work week – adds up to a $260 annual donation!
Do you have an employee giving campaign at work? If yes, please choose W.O.L.F. as the recipient of your workplace giving pledge. If your company hosts workplace giving fairs and presentations, request W.O.L.F. be a featured nonprofit.
If you don’t have an employee giving campaign, let your HR or Community Investment contact know you want to support W.O.L.F. through Community Shares. Contact Community Shares of Colorado to help you start a campaign at firstname.lastname@example.org or 303.861.7507.
Workplace giving is a great way to support W.O.L.F.!
State Tax Return
W.O.L.F. is now part of the ReFUND CO program. You can choose to donate all or part of your state tax return to us when you do your taxes.
More details to come.
Qualified Charitable Distribution
If you have a traditional IRA and are 70 1/2 or older, you now must take the required minimum distribution (RMD), even if you don’t need or want the funds at that time. A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows you to distribute the minimum required amount while avoiding the excise tax penalty and income tax on the distribution.
It works by bypassing the owner and going directly to the charity of your choice. By doing this, you can also keep your adjusted gross income and taxable income within a desired range and prevent your income from reaching the thresholds for the net investment income tax.
And if you have already been donating to W.O.L.F., you can now do so without having those funds taxed first. Talk to your financial advisor and see if this option is beneficial to you.
Include Us in Your Will
One contribution option that not many people think about is the inclusion of a charity in your will. If you do not have the ability to donate to W.O.L.F. now or have been donating to us and want to continue to do so, you can choose to include us as a benefactor in your will.
This is a wonderful opportunity to create a lasting legacy and to continue to help the rescues.
GIVING BACK WHILE YOU SHOP
Did you know that many stores and online shopping sites often give back a portion of their profits to organizations in the community? It’s true. Many businesses have shopper giving programs that donate thousands of dollars a year to charities all across the country. You just need to know where to look.
Stores like King Sooper’s have shoppers cards that give a portion of your payment to organizations. Online sites such as Amazon.com and Ebay.com also have programs like this. It may not look like much at first, but it really adds up overtime. It is a wonderful way to be able to give back to your community without spending any extra cash from your pocket!
