A Letter to Santa
From W.O.L.F. Staff Bob Proulx, Michelle Proulx, and Jillian Depperman
When we asked Skye if she wanted to write a letter to Santa, she scoffed at first and said that that sounded like too much work. We were admittedly surprised and told her that we had thought she would want to ask Santa for presents this year. At the mention of presents, her ears perked up, and she asked us to explain this concept to her. We told her all about Santa and how he delivers presents to those who have been good throughout the year, and before we had even finished enlightening her on the subject, Skye was already drafting her letter, which she allowed us to read.
Skye’s efforts had exhausted her, so she took a nap after she finished writing, clutching her letter in her paws.
When Skye woke up, Santa had come to see her! He said he wanted to read her letter with her.
He proceeded to read her letter, but becoming bored easily as she does, Skye wandered off partway through, eliciting some laughter from her caregivers that had gathered and from Santa himself.
Santa was kind and understanding about Skye’s impatience; he knows how she can be when she’s hungry! After Skye had eaten her meal, Santa came back, finding her not nearly as restless. He read the letter to her again, and she seemed to enjoy the special attention from Santa.
Hopefully, Santa will bring Skye lots of food next week… Even though she can be a tad on the naughty side every so often, she deserves her sleigh full of food and so much more!
